History

KIIT World School, formerly known as New State Academy was established in 1984 founded by the parent society, Vidyapati Sansthan (Regd.). The society was registered in 1969 under Societies Registration Act – 1860. The founder Principal, Mrs. Satya Kamrah and Chairman, Dr. Jainendra Kumar, the philosopher, a thinker and world famous Hindi litterateur laid the foundation.

The parent society also manages colleges of Higher Education at Gurgaon. KIIT College of Engineering, Management College and KIIT College of Education are prestigious institutions. KIIT College of Education has received ‘NAAC’ accreditation with ‘A’ grade.

The society acquired land from DDA in 1989 and moved the school campus to Pitampura in 1991 as a secondary school. The school was upgraded to +2 level for all the three streams in 1992.

Since then the school has been giving almost 100% results in classes X & XII year after year with meritorious performances. Students have been awarded merit certificates for Board’s highest and being in 0.1% of successful candidates. In the last 5 years, the results have been 100%. Many students score 100/100 in various subjects every year.

Academic excellence has been well acknowledged and ably supported by passion and hard work of entire school team.

The focus of school has always been to provide education for life and empower students to lead a life that is demonstrative of school ethos. It promotes environment that helps an individual grow up to be as socially responsible, spiritually inclined ,intellectually elevated and extremely empathetic towards peoples’ concerns.

KIIT family is a very inclusive community where all stakeholders work with learners’ interest at the centre of all planning and functioning.

Since the inception, the school has actively participated and partnered in various community projects. The sensitivity towards environment is reflected through cleanliness drives, zero litter movement, tree plantations, ECO club activities.

The visits to Old Age Homes, Cheshire Home, Nirmal Chhaya and working with learners of diverse abilities have helped students value their own existence and be empathetic towards needs of others before their own.

For international exposure, video conferencing with students of various nationalities, exchange programmes with students visits to Japan under JENESYS programme, visits to NASA, hosting delegation from various countries, hosting student from Germany, working with BCL for various projects are some of the initiatives in this direction.

The ‘Interact Club’ of school is attached with Rotary Akash has been very active and recognized at various platforms for their honest hard work. Many students have been chosen as ZIR’s for coordination of different interact clubs.

Peer Educators have been active in bringing a larger group of students closer to understanding of life and their own existence. Regular workshops conducted by students for their fellow learners have been very well appreciated and the same is demonstrated in various life skills programs organized by ‘Expressions India’ and their active participation and contribution ensure that they think of others before self.

For the holistic development of students, the analytical skills have been sharpened through quizzing, discussions and students have won laurels and accolades at various platforms.

The updation of skills for learners and facilitates has been of utmost importance for the school. Every year all the teachers, staff and students undergo trainings, attend seminars and workshops. They are encouraged to contribute and take the learning for betterment of larger community by sharing their experiences with others. The invited lectures from experts from IITs, NCERT, Delhi University, NCTE, RIES are regular feature.

The school believes in growing together. The learning has not been confined within the boundaries of school. The school has joined hands with various organizations like CBSE, DoE, SCERT for promoting meaningful education over learning for scores through various projects.

The school has been an active member of organizations like Forum of Public School, Federation of Public Schools, North West Sahodaya School Complex, Sarv Sahodaya Cluster, Forum for Promotion of Quality in Education for all.

The school has supported projects like conducting CBSE Heritage Quiz, CBSE Science Exhibition in years 2010 & 2011, CBSE Master Trainers programms for Advocacy of CCE in year 2009 for 6 days training more than 300 principals, Mock United Nation, National Science Congress, Youth Parliament to mention same.

In times of adversity the school has actively contributed to Prime Minister’s relief fund, collection and distribution of goods needed in a very organized manner when Tsunami struck or Earthquake in Gujarat, all hands joined together and generously worked for the cause.

Not only in adversity, the school believes in preparations to cope with any eventuality. Mock Drills, seminars on Disaster Management, talks and deliberations are regularly held.

The health and wellness has been promoted by school through inhouse medical experts who encourage students to maintain healthy lifestyles.

The school has been actively cooperating with NGOs who work for the noble causes in the society and in particular for the students. The school has also been endeavoring to touch all spheres wherever the cause of the students is served.
